Virginia Watercolor Society

The Virginia Watercolor Society, organized in 1979 by Roanoke artists John Will Creasy and Ernest Johnson, is an organization of artists and non-painters which seeks to foster interest and participation in the exciting world of watercolor through the active programming of publications, demonstrations and annual juried exhibitions.

The Virginia Watercolor Society’s 39th Annual Exhibition was on view at Olin Hall Galleries from September 7 through October 7, 2018. This acclaimed exhibition showcased beauty, experimentation, innovation, and creativity in contemporary watercolor. The paintings representing a wide variety of subjects and styles were on view in the exhibition.

Nationally known artist, Kathleen Conover served as juror of the 39th Exhibition. She has been juried into more than 200 exhibitions, receiving national and international recognition for the vision, innovative techniques, and fearless expression that give rise to her unique designs.
