Norma

“Norma” was sent to Los Angeles, California to be “car bombed” by the well-known graffiti artist, Kenny Scharf. After her makeover, she was brought to Roanoke College where she will bring artwork, workshops, and engage students at on-campus events. Currently, Norma is delivering art kits and workshop materials to campus and local patrons through the programs at Olin Hall Galleries.

“Norma” is a 1992 Cadillac Brougham d’Elegance purchased by the Dorothea L. Leonhardt Foundation, Inc. to support programming for the Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo Center for Art at Roanoke College. The art car is named after Norma H. Demetrion who owned the car before she passed away. Norma was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas where she loved to drive the Cadillac around town and watch other’s expressions of admiration for her cool blue exterior. Today, her Cadillac d’Elegance carries on her legacy and her name.
