Dorothy Gillespie (1920 -2012), born in Roanoke, Virginia, was an American artist and sculptor who became known for her large and colorful abstract metal sculptures. The exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of artist, Dorothy Gillespie (1920-2012) by featuring works from her private collection. The works represent over 30 years of collecting and range in styles from Realism to Abstract Expressionism to Postmodernism. Dorothy Gillespie’s collection is comprised of works from over 50 artists such as Josef Albers, Alexander Calder, Helen Frankenthaler, Ellsworth Kelly, Alice Neel, Louise Nevelson, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir;
