“My work explores Compulsive Hoarding disorder and the narratives of people who suffer from it. With influences from my own childhood and the experiences of others, I represent this disorder in miniature form. I am fascinated by the accumulation of objects, maximalism, and the need to keep “stuff.” As a child, I lacked control of my environment and that developed into my obsession with detailed miniatures. I am also interested in how trash can tell a story through the items within it. My miniature scenes are representational and lifelike because I want to open a concise dialogue about the realities and effects of compulsive hoarding.”
